Are you interested in making creative use of digital images from a range of Europe's leading galleries, museums, libraries and archives? The editors of Photomediations: An Open Book and the Europeana Space Best Practice Network are calling for photographers to submit works for possible inclusion in an exhibition next year.
They are looking for still or moving image works that creatively reuse one or more original image files taken from the Europeana repository of cultural artefacts, which includes books and manuscripts, photos and paintings, television and film, sculptures and crafts, diaries and maps, sheet music and recordings. These could take the form of collages, montages, tributes or pastiches.
If you'd like to submit an entry, why not have a look at Photomediations: An Open Book for inspiration about what can be done with various images? Then visit the Europeana repository and start collecting the images you want to work with. Use any technique that creatively reuses the source material in some way - don't be afraid to experiment!
Submissions (which are free) should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 30 March 2016. Successful entries will be highlighted on the exhibition website and then shown in a real-life exhibition venue. If you want to know more, check out the Photomediations website.
