Through it she creates an archive of artists who are themselves working with archives. Anneka said:
"Since I am interested in archives and in artists themselves being able to alter and shape art history, I decided to select six artists who were working with and researching archives in very different ways. Axis itself is also a kind of archive and I liked the self-reflexivity of using this as the theme for the selection. My exhibition is entitled ‘The Artists’ Archive’ and features artists making delicate paper sculptures, installations, films and sound pieces."
Her online exhibition has now gone live on Axis’s website, take a look to see the artists, images and how Anneka presents them. Anneka also has her own website with personal insights and thoughts about her current and past projects.
Congratulations to Anneka - a great project, well-deserved award and good example of students engaging with the archival!
