We've just accepted a donation of a small number of items linked to the career of Marion Richardson (1892-1946), an innovative teacher who trained at Birmingham School of Art and went on to become internationally known for her development of a distinctive child-centred approach to art education. The items include a hand-painted tray decorated under her supervision; black and white photographs of the set she created for a staff production of The Faithful while she was teaching at Dudley Girls' High School in the early years of the twentieth century; and a letter written in July 1968 by someone who knew her to the donor's late husband while he was researching Marion's career for his Diploma in Art Education.
